Contract research

Contract research and development projects helps customers to solve specific technological problems. The research contract scope is defined by each customer individually. Nano360 job is to work out and implement solution strategy which facilitate client`s expectations. The results – including possible trademark and patent rights – usually belong partially or exclusively to the customer, depending on the scope of cooperation. With contract research Nano360 accelerates transfer of scientific know-how to practical applications and contributes to a broad utilization of new findings in nanotechnology.

Cooperative projects

In cooperative research projects nano360 searches with its project partners for solutions to specific technological problems. Cooperative research projects make it possible to share new ideas and check their practical feasibility relatively quickly and easily. The same interests allow partners in cooperative research projects to develop their own ideas using the know-how of other partners and in this way be able to assess the potential of a new idea more quickly. The scope of a cooperative research project is defined jointly by all partners. The results – including possible trademark and patent rights –belong to the partner producing them. It is common practice to allow the respective project partners to utilize the results and possible trademark and patent rights.

Grant funded research

To ensure long-term competitiveness and develop new technologies Nano360 cooperates in selected areas with specific partners in grant-funded projects. As a rule, funding is in the form of government and EU grants. Examples are funding programs of the Federal Ministry of Infrastructure, European Union Funds, Innovation Foundation International Research Foundation. The basis for applications and working in grant-funded projects is always a project proposal that goes far beyond the state-of-the-art and participating partners with the necessary scientific excellence. The results – including possible trademark and patent rights –belong to the partner producing them. It is common practice to allow project partners to utilize the results and possible trademark and patent rights. Nano360 incorporates technologies developed in grant-funded products into other industrial collaborations, thereby ensuring transfer of the newly generated knowledge.

Projects

Polymer compounds

interdisciplinary approach is used to create nano-enabled polymers and metamaterials for cabling industries allowing to create end products with unprecedented, new features. In this project special attention is paid to develop products with enhanced fire retardant capabilities, fungicide and antimicrobial capabilities, mechanical durability and EMI/RFI features.

Wood coatings

project regardsimprovement scratch and abrasion resistance, blocking of UV radiation, reaction to fire properties and hygroscopic properties without affecting the wood appearance. The goal is to provide wood products with better performance than conventional wood treatments due to its easy penetration and distribution, dispersion stability and low viscosity properties.

Energy

application in heat exchanger coatings for both geothermal heat pumps as well as adsorption cooling devices has been identified. Porous nanoparticles can incorporated into formulations for anti-reflective coatings, in order to enhance transmission and efficiency in solar thermal and photovoltaic applications.
